Copy paste text in tables

I think that InDesign CS is a fabulos product, but one thing that I can't deal with, is that when I have spent hours of formatting a table with strokes fills, and cellsizes. Then when I have to edit the content in the table, example to copy the tenth' row of data to the third row then it copy not only the text but also the formatting of the cells. Is the a way to only copy/paste text and not the format?

If any one can answer I would be very happy

Unfortunately there's no way to copy and paste only the text. It's something we'd like to put in there one of these days, but it's not there now.

I found a script that may help to automate the process of pasting tabbed text across a series of cells at the following site:

You need to place the script in this folder:
InDesign CS >> Presets >> Scripts

Seems to work as follows:

1. Set up your tabbed text in a text box e.g. if you want to paste a string of numbers (say 1 to 10) into ten consecutive cells, then type:1 [tab] 2 [tab] 3 etc. in a text box. Hit the tab key twice after the last number. Then copy the text.

2. Open the scripts pallete: Windows >> Scripting >> Scripts

3. Place your text insertion point inside the first cell of your table

4. Double click the script: "Paste tabbed text into table"

5. The script will then place all the text from the clipboard into the row
