Copy oracle database from production to test

I need to basically update our test database tables each night with fresh data there are 3 tables which will not be copied, and 1 package and I do not want to copy any triggers or stored procedures. What is the easiest way to do this?

Would you just run an export utility and then an import utility?

Where does the .dmp file sit after the export and before the import?
