I want to duplicate a record (but leave one field empty to be modified before saving the record). By following the non-programming methods for duplicating a record, either using the Duplicate Record button or by highlighting the record on the left, copying and then pasting, it duplicates correctly .... that is unless you have an input mask in place (i.e. for a short date of 00:00;;" "). This brings up an error stating that the data does not meet the criteria of the input mask. The record duplicates fine, but the popup error box is annoying. How do you disable this popup error when an input mask is in place?

Have you tried changing your placeholders from 0's to 9's. 0's require input, 9's are optional input. When I tried copying a record with my input mask, I did not have any problem. I did it in datasheet view for my form.
