cooling fan wont quit!?

hey i have a compaq about a year old (presario sr1503wm) and my cooling fan runs damn near all the time. im wondering if anyone may know how to fix this. maybe re-set the temp at which it runs in the bios? any help is good. dont know if i can even access the bios on this pc but let me know anything you may know. thanks a bunch!!!

I'm not sure what you mean? the cooling fan is supposed to run all the time.
It may vary in speed depending on temperature but I would be suprised if it stops for any length of time.

It could be that the heatsink has built up some dust bunnies which are making the cooler less efficient and as a consequence the fan is spinning faster for longer, maybe thats it.
Needs a good blow out to remove dust build up in the heatsink.
There usually are some Fan control settings in the bios, refer to the manual.
Also once in the bios maybe you could post back with some temperatures.

thanks, i was wrong. it was my processer fan, cleaned it. works the balls. sorry for the confusion, but thank you.
