Billy,

Yea, the 'bots hit it first and that is what you see tons and tons of 'bots checking out "things", looking for holes :)

The deal is that if the bots find something interesting than sometimes a human comes back and checks it out, that is how it should work. Sometimes it NEVER happens because their is soooooo much out there that is not locked down and also many "script kiddies" let loose bots just because they can ...... and don't always know what to do with the info that comes back.

Thing is IF a real black hat comes a calling and he figures out he is being "watched" and is in a "fake" network, he might get mad :-( The warning was ment for a business or schools that would put "fake" information out there for them to "hack" and fear is that they will get pissed and then do ALL they can to hack the real network!

You would just have a file server with random "stuff". I don't think I would try to make them think you are XYZ Credit card co. :) ........

Burt it adds the license on its own into the installation window, you don't get an email with it... Took me off guard as well...

Thanks Dallas, They changed that actually.. The first install I did I was emailed the key but now it is automated.. By the way, Dallas was talking about PacketTrap PT360 and the registration process.

Gene, I see your point! Thanks for the info!
