I only checked some pages on this site for a few minutes and I wanted to mention a few things I think that are realy cool:
- The course sites are great for inexperienced developers
- The HTML extras pages are great.
- Take a look at the CSS tricks page (verry COOL !!) (

Go to the question "Colored Scrollbars On Your Web Page" and click here on the button "Click To See This In Action With Diagram" to see the wonderful explanation popup screen.

You may also want to go to a local bookstore and look for books that have CSS and DHTML in the title. There are books of all different types. Some are visually oriented, some are just wording.

I know that once I had the hang of HTML, CSS came easily, however a co-worker had a hard time. I think it depends on your background. Give yourself a break, this may not be easy for you.
