Converting Word Perfect to Word

I have someone who is trying to convert Word Perfect documents to Microsoft Word. They created a macro in Word Perfect to convert these documents but when they run the macro they receive an error, something about "unable to register window" This person has numerous documents in Word Perfect 8.0 and some earlier versions that need to be converted to Word 2000. Word Perfect seems to be functioning fine other than the problem running the macros. The documents contain some simple black and white graphics, bullets, graphs etc. I see there are some freeware converters available on the net but I don't think that is going to be an option since her computer is in the workplace and all software must be on the "approved" list. Bottom line, I would like to find a way for her to convert all these Word Perfect docs to Word as intact as possible. Any info on what is going wrong in Word Perfect or perhaps another way to convert these documents using Word would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Darth

Sorry........... the operating system is win2k pro. The machine is a Dell, probably a gx240. I don't have many other specs since I'm not sitting at the machine at the moment. :0)

The exact error message is "Window class registration failed cannot initialize". They can convert the files in word but it leaves them lots of page formatting garbage, page breaks etc. to cleanup. They apparently have a macro in word perfect (that won't run because of the error) that cleans that up and another in word to finish it up.

It was a permissons issue. Lots of group policy on the machine. I suggested that they convert the docs using Word. They weren't buying, they needed that macro to run in WP to eliminate all the formatting crap. Gave the user power user permissions and now the macro runs. :0)
