Hello all
how can I convert a word document to tiff image ,,,

thx in advance

JeffTullin, that would work if WFadloun is looking for a type 3 tiff. WFadloun there are several tiff drivers out there that you can print to. There is also a way to do it via code but it is more problems than it is worth since using a simple web search will find you a lot of different 3rd party controls. Some are free and some are not.

Good Luck

hello
thx Jiff,, and vb5pro
actually I have searched the web for a convertor but all convertors or printer drivers I found are very expensive.

the purpose of converting this document is faxing it using kdtele tools (we obtained it long time ago)
I will be appriciate if you recomend me any free 3d party convertor.

btw what is type 3 tiff ,,, I am completely new to image converting issue ,THE only thing I know that to send tiff image it should be 200/200 resolution and 1728 pix width

thanx in advance

Type 3 is the tiff fax standard.

If you are just looking to fax the document then why not use BitCom or MS Fax or the hundreds of other cheap/free fax drivers out there? Basically what these do fax drivers do is you print to them but you need to supply other information (number to dial etc.).

Good Luck

And under XP, just go to Start/Printers & Faxes,
Set up faxing.
Follow the wizard.

Under other Windows, you may have to install a printer, just search for the Fax driver.

Um - if you've got the Fax add-on to KDTele Tools, then you should have the KDImage Editor ActiveX component which should allow you to do this (from what I can tell from a swift glance at the KDTools website). Even if this doesn't automate direct converesion of Word document into a TIFF it certainly seems to support import of RTF - so worst case scenario you can save the Word document as RTF and them import that into KDImage Editor

you are completly right ,,, but this KDImage Editor will complicate user steps to send this fax,,, I want to simplify it and automate it so any word document could be sent from within my app.
I did something ,,,,I convert word document to bmp image according to your previous thread then I convert this bmp image to tiff image ,,, But the problem is
1- resolution is not good
2- right-to-left font is not saved as it is formmatted in the document
I am looking for something similier to winfax pro which print a hight quality image and completly recognize arabic font and its format

excuse my english
I hope that I did clearfy my points

thanx again ,,, I will be appricaited for any more help
regards

KDImage Editor can be automated. i.e you can drive it from VB. User never needs to get their hands dirty.
