Converting Text "Wordart Effect"

Lately I'm getting a lot of people who made a "Logo" with Microsoft Wordart. Redrawing this in Illustrator isn't a big problem, accept for 1. Is there an easy way to redraw the effect used in for example the Lonsdale logo. I'm using illustrator 9. There has to be a way, but i can't find it.

While I don't remember 9, look on the Object menu/Envelope distort/Warp. Or - Effect menu/Warp. Depending on the Word prebuilt used, you might have to do some work with Strokes and other filters/effects.

Thanks for your quick response, so I need the "Warp" effect. There's only one little problem version 9 hasn't got this effect. I think i will need a newer version. Or is there another way to do this?

I would definitely suggest upgrading. ILL has HUGE increases is usability/output possibilities. Well worth the $169

A quick way of doing it would be to use Kai's Vector Effects which was bought out by Corel (gag) and I think discontinued.. im sure you can find it online. For mac and PC but it never got ported to cocoa for OSX as far as I know It was a really handy plugin back in the day before Illustrator added all the new tools, warps and effects.

Been I while since ive used it but your looking for the 3D plugin within Vector Effects.
