Hi All!!

I have an urgent need to convert FileMaker database to MS Access... It's not very big, but where should i start??

Please, give me a hint... Have a great day!:)

First of all in Filemaker export to TAB delimited text.

Open up Access and use the wizard in Access to import this TAB file.

I have never had problems doing it this simple way. Steve Butterworth

Hi!

Thanks for answer!

I did have some problems doing it though, because dates were entered without proper formatting. But I did it through Excel sheet. Nice and smooth:)

Thanks:) Have a great day!:)

Dates are always a pain. I find the best way is to move dates as a text field. Although as you say they can always be <doctored> in a spreadhseet.

Glad I helped you. Steve Butterworth

How would you do the conversion from Filemaker to Access if you were on a mac?

There isn't access for mac is there?

Know nought abou the MAC, but I would try the same way exporting from FM to TAB or CSV Steve Butterworth
Time is what you make of it

Thanks Steve

Thought the same thing :)

Just need to send the file to a PC person with Access to do the last stage...

Cheers

Steve B:

How would you do this if the FM5 database is in USR format?

Same way as I said before in this thread, unless of course whoever created this application has not disabled exporting. Steve Butterworth

Hi Guys

Is there any easier way yo convert Filemaker to Access - such as that the relationships and formats are exported as well.

Maybe a type of software?

I am fairly new to looking at Filemaker and there is a project at work that requires us to convert Filemaker to access and obviously we would like to do this the easiest way possible.

Thanks
Amanda
