Hello,
I am totally new to all this. I have downloaded perl and through START > RUN > COMMAND (Dos prompt) I've been trying to run a program called mb2md (a Perl script) by typing "perl mb2md" The response I get is "The getpwuid function is unimplemented at mb2md line 274." I have no idea what this means, and I could really use some expertise from the professionals here.

Any takers willing to help a struggling newbie?

Thanks!

Where did you get the script, and what OS are you running?

'getpwuid' is one of the standard functions in perl

you can check it out here

now what is the problem on the script you have,
check out these. They might clear things out for you.

Good Luck

Thank you perluserpengo. They are good reads, but I couldn't really draw any resolutions from them. I'm open to alternative suggestions for converting mbox to mdir.

Thanks

That the script works only in Linux Unix and the like

Anyone know of any alternatives in a Windows format? I'm hesitant to let someone else convert my e-mail for me, but I might not have a choice.

Thanks!

What mail are you trying to convert?

First off get a backup of your e-mail before doing anything else.
