As always, I am another soul thrown into an old phone system. Our setup is a Merlin Legend r6? w/Audix. My first tasks are as follows:

1. Change extension 122 (we have exts 100 - 139) into a FAX line on one of the 012 w/ring cards. How do I do this? There are already a few modem/fax lines assigned to exts in the range listed but they were programmed before me.

2. The operator's extension(100) rings and rings and voicemail never picks up when she is away or on the phone. I have checked and 100 is in cover group 30. What do I need to check next?

Bonus question: How do I figure out what each port on the system is assigned to ext wise, number wise, etc? We have three 408MLXs, one 008MLX and two 012 Basics.

Any help is appreciated.

If you have WinSpm, I would suggest you start by printing the EXTENSION DIRECTORY.

That shows which extension is programmed to what port.

I also like to have a print of the System Set Up, to see what modules are in the system.

I need to be enlightened on printing. When I try to do a print, and direct it to the floppy, I get an error. I'm thinking the disk may need to be formatted but I don't know how to do that(unless it will take a Windows formatted disk).

it doesn't matter where you print to as long as you can find it again try the default location
ext 122 into a fax extension? with a dedicated incoming number or just outgoing? if just outgoing then plug the fax in and done.
The operator is not covering to VM if it is a queued console, do a system setup printout and see if that is the case if so then you are pooched.

When a site is set up in WINSPM, it usually has a site name.

That being said, files are usually saved in the following location:

C:\Program Files\WINSPM\Site Data\SITE NAME.

So, rather than saving to a floppy see if you can save it to it's own SITE DATA Folder.

OK, I figured out a few things. I think the answer to my 1st question is System Renumbering. However, this led to another road block. If I try to renumber x122, I get the low bong tone indicating that the system won't let me do that. What do I need to check x122 for that could be stopping me from doing a renumber?
