i am trying to open a database in access 2000 which was created in access '97, when i do it says it has to convert so i click okay and it comes up with an information message saying "Local forms, Reports, Macro's and modules will not be converted" and when i click okay it comes up with a box saying "no current record"

did u compact and repair the 97 file before exporting to 2000?

If that does nto work you can create a new 2000 file and just export all the thing u want manually ... that might work. Right click and press export on the form, report, macro, table, quey that u want

It sounds to me like your Access 97 database is an MDE file. These objects can't be converted because the source code was deleted when the MDE file was built.

To convert successfully, you must use the MDB file from which the MDE was created.
