Converting Approach file

I have a Lotus Approach file and I need to convert it to Microsoft.
I don't have smartsuite or approach, and can't "open as" the file!

I was wondering if someone would be willing to open the file and save it as excel?

I know this is a lot to ask, and I feel really cheeky...
But it would be a great help.

it's only 25k.

Is that a .apr file? If so it just contains views, macros finds etc but no data. It can't be saved as anything except another apr file. It can't even be opened unless the data files are present.

Approach doesn't have a proprietory data format; the default is dBase IV (.dbf) which can be opened directly by MS Office apps.

I see!

Basically a friend of mine works on a ship and has their inventory data in Approach. He sent me the .apr file so that I could convert it to Microsoft (which they just chnged to) for him.

So if I want to get the data I need him to send me the associated .dbf file?

ps. There are some missing images on your website!

If a dBase table contains memo fields they are stored in an associated .dbt file; you need all .dbfs & .dbts.

Alternatively, the data can be exported from Approach into a number of formats such as delimited text.

My website is fine, there are no missing images. Perhaps your browser didn't complete loading the page.

I see. The thing is they've taken off Lotus so there is no chance of exporting it...

Sorry is I caused offence about missing images.
I'm a web designer so I like seeing what others have done. Using IE6, the applet on the page "incTopNavBar.htm" doesn't load. Only the last image "EndBtnStrip.jpg" does.
