when you install the Adobe Acrobat Writer a new button appears on your Word toolbar permitting you to convert .doc in .pdf.

I use a free app called pdf995 available from

http://www.pdf995.com

It's free but gives you sponsor links ...you can lose these for $9.95 or just ignore them for $0.00 ;-)

You set it up as one of your printers and 'print' to it. As long as you remember to alter your print settings to 'download as soft font' when you 'print', all your formatting and font styles will remain. If you don't, when you send the file to another PC it will make a best match of font styles.
