I have a Paradox file that I need to get into Access. The straight method of file>get external data> import is giving me the message "External table is not in the expected format". Does anyone know how to get it in the correct format? Is there another converter that I need to download? Any help would be much appreciated!!
Thanks:)

I'm assuming you don't have a copy of Paradox laying around?

Good question! I should have said that in my 1st msg. I do have a copy of Paradox 9. When I open a table (.db file) in Paradox, I get a dialog box that reads: "Blob file not found or corrupt". It gives me the option to open read only or fail open. Fail open doesn't open the table. And the read only option opens the table with only the field names, no data. Then when I try to export it to an Excel file, it tells me the file or directory does not exist. Hhmmm.
Thanks so much for responding BaudKarma!!!

If Paradox won't open it, odds are that the file is corrupt. Does Paradox 9 have any kind of file repair utilities built in? A quick Google for ' Paradox "file repair" ' showed a bunch of hits, so there may be some third party utility you can get that'll fix it up.

I try not to let my ignorance prevent me from offering a strong opinion.

Awesome, thanks. I'll look into getting a repair utility to see if that works!

So, actually, there are tables that do open and have data in them but they only open in Read-Only. Then when I try and export them to another file type, Paradox gives me the same message that the "Blob file not found or corrupt". Am I missing a Blob file? Do I need one of these to connect the tables? I guess you wouldn't know if I am missing a Blob file, but what I am wondering is if the Blob file is an important file that when missing, the database does not run properly.
Pardon my database ignorance.

Thank you for your help BaudKarma! I was missing files and that was why it was coming up corrupt.
I appreciate your time in answering my questions
