Convert values to formulas?

Any idea if there is any tool available that will take a set of columns, figure out the computation among them and then change the result column from a value to a formula?

I am guessing you mean that you have a set of numbers in a row and a "result" number and you want to know how to put the numbers together to get the result eg if you had
A B C
2 2 4
then a formula would be
C = A + B
That just ain't gonna happen unless it is very basic and obvious formulae as it could also be
C= A*B

Thats exactly right.
My users get spreadsheets with values rather than formulas. They want to 'play' with the numbers, but can only do so if the result columns are modified to the appropriate computation. This is now done manually and I was just wondering if there was any way to make it easier.

So, where is this values spreadsheet coming from, and was the results column created by a known equation?

The 'values' spreadsheets come from outside our company, so we have no control over its setup.

The results columns are known equations.
