Is there a good program to convert newer QuarkXpress files to InDesign

Open the Quark files in InDesign and then save them. Instant conversion.

Adobe has only deciphered the Quark 4 format. No version of InDesign can open Quark 5 or 6. You will need to have Quark save down to previous versions if you want to use in InDesign.

Quark has encrypted their file format for v. 5 & 6, so right now, ID only opens docs created in 3 & 4. The only workaround is to save backwards from those later versions.

AdobeTim, you said

Do you have any information that Adobe is going to override Quark's encryption?

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with InDesign crashing. We run OSX 10.2.8 and Font Reserve is our font utility program.

Quite often, if I drag a guide off the page to get rid of it, or if I select two or three picture boxes and tell them to align on their centers to a vertical axis, InDesign crashes. If I open the same document up and experiment by doing the same thing again, it will crash again.

Thanks!

Hey Jim, apologies for not seeing your question earlier. I can't talk about what we're planning on doing, I'm afraid. It's therefore officially an open question as to whether or not we'll support the conversion of those later file versions.
