Is there a way to convert a raster image to a vector image in Photoshop 7? If that's not possible, is there an easy way to convert or apply a filter to a photo so it looks more like a painting or drawing? I have tried many of the filters that came with Photoshop 7 and it doesn't look like what I wanted. The image either look too yellow, too dark, and or too fuzzy.

I'm greatly appreciated for any suggestion.

Hi,

The best filter for the output you are looking for is found under:

filter > artistic > cutout

Hope this helps!

There is also an Adobe program called Stream Line, which takes rasterized images and creates the vector lines.

But if you want to use a filter, and its turning to yellow.
Do your filter, then user your adjustment layers to fix the color distortion. Levels, curves, contrast...etc

Many thanks for the responses. I will try the cutout and see if that's what I wanted. As far as changing the levels, curves, conrast...etc., it doesn't work because after the filter as been applied and the color has turned to yellow, the image is then contain only one color and that is yellow. All the colors of the image is gone. As for the Adobe Streamline, I have tried it once and it wasn't accurate. One other option I have not looked for is Action scripts in Photoshop. I know there are tons of Action script for Photoshop but I don't know if there is an Action script just for that purpose. I would appreciate if anyone can suggest a site that has great action scripts for Photoshop...possibly for that purpose.

Again, many thanks for your effort.

Anoterh way you can do this )if you have flash) is to open the image in flash use the trace command then export as an .ai file

Hope this helps!
