I have designed a banner (47'8" x 30'20") in Publisher and want to save it as a PDF file to upload to VistaPrint. I can't seem to set up Adobe Acrobat to create the PDF file without breaking the file into 20 pages (as if I was printing it on a printer). I need one 75 dpi PDF file. Any advice?

What software are you using to convert it to .pdf?

I'll assume you're using Distiller to create the PDF as you mentioned Acrobat.

The maximum size PDF which Distiller will create is 200 inches × 200 inches.

47ft × 30ft is huge, so you will need to scale the PDF down by a factor of 3.5 or so, and tell the printer to scale it up when printing.

You will need create a custom page size for Distiller by clicking on "Printing Preferences" on the Distiller/PDF icon in the Control Panel.

Pictures show Distiller 6 - may be slightly different for other versions.

(Ideally you should have created this huge banner with Adobe Illustrator, which will save natively as PDF)

Thank you. Yes, I use Adobe Acrobat 9.0. I suspected that the file was too big ... I ended up paying someone to lay it out in Illustrator for me ... just copy my layout. Ah well! One of these days I'll learn how to use Illustrator! :)
