I have been sent a fm file but I do not have Frame maker and I would like to print it in a reasonably form. I have opened the file in Word via Recover Text from any file but it's quite ugly. Any suggestions

Sorry to say, but if your company doesn't have Filtrix (an expensive file conversion tool), you'll need FrameMaker to convert the file. I suggest you contact the person who sent you the file (or someone with FrameMaker) and have the file saved to RTF.

Bill is right, but I can add a couple of ideas. Can you get the sender to give you a PDF (Acrobat) file? The viewer, Acrobat Reader is free from Adobe. Or, if this is going to happen a lot, there's a better (I believe) and cheaper filter product called mif2go from Omni Systems ( You can use that to turn FrameMaker files into Word or several other file types.

Hey there,

there is a program called FrameViewer, which is for viewing FrameMaker files without having it.
