I'm new at this so bear with me please.
I am trying to convert a table in a Word .doc into a .csv to import into mysql.
When I copy the contents of a table cell where there are multiple paragraphs within the cell the result in Excel is multiple rows, one for each paragraph.
Can someone give me a hint on what I should be doing so that each cell is contained within o single row?
I tried Shift | Enter in Word to separate the paragraphs but that didnt work. I want to maintain the paragraph structure in the database.
Thanks

Can you click the whole table in word and then copy paste to excel?

I'm doing that but paragraphs within a table cell in Word create separate rows in Excel.
i.e.

in cell #1
text in paragraph #1
text in paragraph #2

the above pastes into Excel .csv as

row #1 = text in paragraph #1 in cell #1
row #2 = text in paragraph #2 in cell #1

When I try to import the .csv into mysql I end up with 2 records (one for each row in .csv)

Yeah I am playing around with it and see what you mean... tried pasting in several different formats as well....

I will play around with it...

Hi drtom,

I found the answer for you: I tried it and got it to work, so if you have any problems, let me know.

Make sure when you type in the Alt keystroke that you type the numbers in with the NUMBER PAD, not by using the numbers at the top of your keyboard.

Good luck!
