I have my finished CDR file in Corel Draw 11. I did a publish to PDF and the resulting PDF file has a few things changed such as the margins and the lines per inch. Can I tell PDF to leave things alone?
There are various third party PDF creators and some people say they do a better job. However, they all work pretty much the same way and the main difference is in the default settings, some of which may be better or worse for a particular purpose than Corel's.
On Corel's first PDF screen there is a button called Settings and through it you can set any values that you want.
You say Corel "changed the margin". My guess is that you probably had the bleed option turned on, but possibly not cropmarks because with that you would at least have seen why the page was bigger.
The bleed and cropmarks options influence what [n]adobe reader[/b] shows you as the display document -- but they should NOT influence how a commercial printer positions the finished result, because PDF documents contains a "crop box" and a "trim box" which their imposition program will use to determine your original design page size and the page placement on the press sheet.
If your commercial printer really wants a document without bleed and cropmarks you can turn them off on the Settings : Prepress page. But your commercial printer will probably need your document to have the added bleed and cropmarks and unless you have been told otherwise.
Similarly, changing LPI (and I assume you mean in bit images) is an option on the Settings : Objects page. Turn off bitmap resampling.
