convert/burn AVI to dvd

OK, I have Roxio 8.
How do I use it to convert an .avi file to burn to dvd so I can watch on my tv?
I cant seem to find the right app within it to do this.
Or what other programs can do this?

I only have Sony's propriety burning SW, but it will import .avi. Roxio may do this also.
