If I'm passing a varchar field from my stored procedure, but that field needs to be summed in the groupfooter field what type do I need to convert it in the vb backend?

Right now I'm getting 0 in the groupfooter field because it cannot add the values from the detail section as they are type varchar/string.

Thanks.

tried double, decimal, but the group header isn't calculating the values.

Just what sort of totalling are you doing? If it's a running total for a group, then it will be zero in the group header and only correct in the group footer. (See FAQ767-6524 for more details.)

A formula field with ToNumber({string}) ought to be unable for totalling.

It helps to give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods change between versions, and higher versions have extra options.
