First:
Thanks for all the help you give others. You have helped me more than you know. Hat's off!

I was adding some ControlTips to my forms when this issue came about. Sometimes a 'mouse over' will show the ControlTip and other times the control must have focus to display the ControlTip. I have also noticed than some controls do not even show the ControlTip no matter what.

How can I track down the cause of the problem?

P.S. I am only a Programmer in my wildest dreams. Can't seem to find where to change this in my profile.

How are ya burlymerly . . .

Do you have any [blue]controls on top of others?[/blue]

For instance you draw a rectangle around a textbox. The rectangle is now on top of the textbox and the textbox will not show the tooltip! The textbox needs to be brought to the front!

I should have guessed this myself! You are sooo right.

Thanks very much AceMan1.

It is still in my wildest dream to be a programmer.

AceMan1:

It just hit me that I have tried in the past to get a specific control on top and failed. I ended up moving the control to get around my lack of knowledge.

How do I get a control on top?

In form design view, [blue]select the control[/blue] from the combobox on the Formatting Toolbar. Then on the Menubar select:

[tt]Formatting - [blue]Bring To Front[/blue]
- [blue]Send To Back[/blue][/tt]
