Hi
I am looking for any ideas on how to control the size of peoples 'mail' files. I have tried 'educating' the users, however this doesn't do much good. Some users(sales people) have accumulated 1Gb of mail even after regular 'mass' deletions.

I am fairly new to this, so any advice welcome

Slap a quota on the users' mail files, and teach them about archiving their emails. If using R5, make sure you select the option on the server doc to obey the quota limits. You'll probably need to educate your users that although they can send out emails, they will not be able to save their sent mails. I've seen some locations which program the mail template to check if the size is over the limit everytime the mail file is opened, and if so, prompts a dialog box which tells the user to archive their emails. This bugs the user into managing their mail file sizes. You'll definitely still have a handful of users who ignore your emails though, whatever you do.
