Is it possible to have a movie pass a variable to another movie if they are not embedded in the same flash movie but are on the same html page? I can't figure out a way to make it work, and it might not even be possible. Any help or suggestions is very much appreciated.

Yes, yes, please tell... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEBODY TELL US! Then, of course, tell us how.

Just thinking out looooooooud here!...
Seems to me, if one movie can write variables to a text file, why in hell, couldn't a second movie, on the same page, read them?

;-) "If nothing else, I can always serve as a bad example!”

I've been looking at the &quot;url.htm&quot; example from potap@mail.primorye.ru and it's flash from a txt file example... where a swf is reading from a txt file, I was thinking, I could have my SWF 1 write the VARIABLES to my HTML page and then have my SWF 2 pick them up... now I know that if my txt file is on the server then if I have more than 2 folks or more on my site at once there is always the chance that they would both be saving to the same file, and we'd get the &quot;somebody ate my birfday cake&quot; senario. So then the other option is to hide the variables on the page someplace, like a Java code <PARAM> or in the <HEAD> so that it is only effecting the individual experiance. The other option is to save the data to a Cookie or have them &quot;log in&quot; and keep a &quot;locker room&quot; full of little txt files made individual for each player.

Well, there's my 2 bits, now it's off to a night of on-line personal ads, and teasing my salt-water fish with sushi.

Hmmmm....

I think Oldnewbie's onto something there. If I have a chance to figure it out, you will all be the first to know.
