I am running a PIII 500 NT Server and each morning foe the past week it has crashed and rebooted. I checked the event viewer and the error reports the following.

Unexpected Shutdown
Controller Error \device\harddisk1 Partition 1
Device Scsi Port 1 did not respond within the timeout.

All the above are seperate errors but could be related. The harddisk is a secondary disk in the Server

Any thoughts.

Thanks

JP

I would say either the HDD or the motherboard controller is on the way out, probably the HDD. When you boot it is taking too long to recognize the drive and timing out.

Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.
