I am working on an IP office 500 V2. I have two cards installed: ATM4U & DS 1-8. I am attempting to install a new combo card but this is not working out. I am getter a configuration alarm; invalid card fitted. The card i am trying to deploy is; ATM4V2

The release of software on the PBX is 8.1(69)

Can anyone add clarity or give me some advice.

what is the part number for this card, certain releases only work with this card.

well that one will work in that release. What happens when you install the card? Do you see any lights?
Mike

when i install the card the usual red light comes on, but nothing else happens. When i check in the system status, that's where i see the error message

i have tried the card in different slots, same result.

What firmware release is the IPO on?

there are a number of models of combo cards, later ones will not work on earlier firmware.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

That card should work on 8.1(69) - the minimum is 81.(63). Check that Manager isn't already showing something in that slot, if so delete it and reload the config before shutting down and adding the combo card.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks for the advice, i will try that out.

are you sure that the control unit is 8.1.69 and not just the manager. I have seen where people look a the manager program and not the system for the release. What does SSA say? Also you can only have 2 combo cards in a system make sure the other cards are not V1 combo cards.
Mike

I took the information about the software release from the system status. I have presently one combo card and a ds 1-8 card.

my recommendation would be to upgrade to the latest 8.1 release and try the combo card again or get a V1. Also could the combo card be at a different release and not be recognized, in monitor enable http and tftp downloads to see if the card is trying to pull the firmware file.
Mike

I had that issue and the fix was putting both Combo Cards in slot 3 and 4. I know its little bit of work but it could fix your issue.

i will be proceeding with two possible courses.

I am in the process of downloading the latest 8.1 version software to perform an upgrade. Whilst that is happening i will try the swap card positions.

You say you have an IPO with 2 combo cards already installed and are trying to add a third? If so, the maximum number of combo cards an IPO will support is 2.

no he did not say that looks like only one combo card, you could just have a defective card as well.

experienced this once.. just replace it
maybe it was lightning strike
