We have a network running Win2k Adv Server and all the clients are Win XP SP2.

The problem is only with one user at the moment, he can'nt access the control panel from any workstation. l have checked his AD settings he is set up the same as another user that has access to the control panel. l have given him admin rights to the local PC and that didnt work. checked his normal PC in AD and no restrictions.

The Global GP seems to be fine, l works for all the other users appart from him.

ummm... Help ;)

Is there a local policy that prevents access to the Control Panel?

Not that l could see, because l can login as admin and get the control panel, and other users (non-admin) are able to get the control panel.

The other users are the same as the user l am trying to help.

l will double check the local policy settings, could of missed something.

Thanks for the Reply !

l have checked and it will have nothing to do with the local policy settings, because other users with the same rights can access the control panel and he cant.

There is an extry in the event log - 1030, had a look into it and it may solve the problem l will post up any updates l find.
