Normally when opening a combo box, it's list will drop down to either the right or left side, however would it be poss to choose/control the side and not have it "dictated" , via vba.

Also would it be poss to detach the list from the combo box itself ?
Thanks for any reply in advance.

Hi MajP
Thanks for your reply and it looks interesting, however this example is using a menu bar to accomplish the job.
What I was looking for was a vba control of the combo list itself.

But thx for this option that may come in handy for other jobs.

AKAIK, without using the windows API you cannot control where the list pops up. You could try posting in the windows API forum. If you need to fake it, have a hidden listbox that appears where you want it and then hides once the list is selected. Same with separating a list from the combo. I do not think you could even do that with API, that is why I fake it with a menu. BTW what would it look like to have a list detached from the combo? Are you envisioning something like my demo. I am trying to picture it.

Hi MajP

I dont mind using an API call, I am just not sure how ;-)

Sneakey suggestion, making an extra combo and it might be the solution :)

I'll, however try you suggestion of a posting on the API forum first.

No I did not get it from your demo, is it something that I saw aong time ago in an app (mde).... Grrrrr ;-D
Thourght it to be quite cool.... but now I need it.....
