Context Menu missing in web part

I created a document library, and when I mouse over a document, I get the arrow that I can click on to get the context menu. On the main page of the site, I create a new web part and put that document library in it. When I mouse over any of the same documents, I don't get the arrow to click on for the context menu. I am the site/farm administrator. What am I missing?

In your webpart, modify the current view to display Name (linked to document with edit menu) instead of Name (linked to document)
