Anyone know how to get rid of this? Win 2000 Pro, ran NAV updated, Ad Aware, Spybot. Checked WIN.INI "load". Nothing in startup.

OOPS! In my hurry to get this out I forgot, sorry :(

A window of the contents of C:\winnt pops up on the screen while loading Windows. It appears to be slowing things down, I could be wrong. There have been issues with Spy ware on this machine.

Jeff

OK, have a look in the registry for any entries that start C:\WINNT or %SystemRoot% but point to a file that doesn't exist on the hard drive, for example.

C:\WINNT\abcdefgh.txt

if the file abcdefgh.txt doesn't exist. It may have been caused by the removal of spyware but not quite fully cleaning up the registry.

As 2K doesn't have MSConfig, if you don't feel comfortable using the Registry editor, try Startup Control Panel from
