Contact Recorder On Linux and Windows Domain Authentication 1

I am curious - has anyone been successful in setting up the "Windows Domain Authentication" feature on IPO R9 Contact Store? After searching on and off for 6 hours yesterday, I finally found the tool to encrypt the password. I set up the acr.properties file as listed and I am getting a Java exception (Kerberos startup failure: Cannot get keys at REQ_OK state). Doing a Google search led me to a closed bug in Java, but it apparently still happens, and the only suggested workaround is downgrading to Java version 6.

I don't have a lot of faith in those docs, because the Administering Contact Recorder manual (online and PDF) shows images that use Windows file paths but the system is only for Linux.

On the up side, in testing I was able to restore a backup from the 7.8 version of Contact Store and restore it onto the Linux server. After copying the audio files, it worked (without the Windows authentication).

In case anyone needs to get this working, I found that if you download the latest version from the CentOS 6.3 vault updates, Version 7.0.9 and install with yum, then the procedure works as expected, and nothing seems to break.
