Consume Webserice On An As400 1

I may need to consume a web service on an AS400.

I have many years with RPG using tradditional coding but have never encountered websphere.

To consume a web service provided by a windows server over the intranet, is websphere the tool of choice?

Is there a site/book anybody can recommend on how to achieve this need with websphere? I believe websphere is not just run on AS$00 platforms so I'm not sure which book to buy from internet sellers as they seem to be platform independant.

To consume a web service on the AS400, which language is used? Can it be done with RPG/CL or do I need to use something else such as Java or REX?

Yea I checked this out, the problem is that there is endless information about creating a web service on the Iseries but nothing about how to consume one.

I have found an open code solution to the problem but not understanding how it works and not having the ability to adapt it in the future is a concern.
