Constantly Detecting Graphics Card As New Hardware XPost1

My mate's got a geforce mx440 and every now and then when he turns on the pc, it says 'detected new hardware' and goes through all the gubbins of re-installing the drivers. He has tried the most up to date nvidia drivers and this cleared it for a bit but now its back.

It doesn't happen all the time just every now and then.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

Try to show windows (manualy)the folder where the update driver is, don't use self extraction drivers or auto-install (.exe files)
