Assuming it's not coincidental that a particular phone number is always busy, is there ANY way my PBX could deny calls to a particular phone number when calls to other numbers in the same NPA/NXX CAN be completed? example: calls to 212-555-1212 always complete but calls to 212-555-3434 always, ALWAYS get a busy signal. Calls from cell phones can complete the call. Nothing but 976 is blocked in the SDRR table. thanks.

sounds like your service provider has something out of place. give em a call.

well guess what? I already did and, of course, they're pointing the finger at my switch. isn't that surprising?

It could be your switch, check Ld 90 and prt that NPA and see if there are any Deny's for that number.

what do you get if you call the number from your cellphone at the same time

Just dial out on a maintenance phone, bypass all your BARS/NARS. Get through, look harder, don't get through tell them.

Turn on messaging to see if you are getting out, and what messages you are getting.

Can you use POTS lines from your location to dial the number?

Post the number and we can all flood test calls to it.

John

the npa works, prt the nxx and see if you've got anything bgoken down that far, ususally it's just the nxx and a rlb, prt that nxx and post it here.
