i'm not sure what i am doing wrong here but i got an error when i went to open computer managment/services and apps. i went to m.s. web site and found the error i was getting. now this is where it all goes down hill. it tells me to go to "console" add/remove snap-in i can't find this console anywhere:)i went to component service found a "console there but nothing about add/remove. so where is that little bugger hinding???thanks for any help on this.

ok take the last one back...i founf the console. but when it says to add/remove the orphaned snap in there wasnt anything in it. the only snap in i see in the computer managment/services location is WMI and indexing services. now i am really confused???thanks again in advance

HEHE this ones a tricky one...Try going to component services.. can your expand my computer? if you get an error msg. post a reply and i'll post how to fix that problem. Theres a com + tool that you can run that will delete any apps that isn't using the com+ component. what was the original msg that you were getting?

thanks for the reply side track...went to the component service expanded the my computer...no errors at all...the orignal message i recieve is as follows.
MMC
snap-in failed to initialize
name:-not available-
CLSID:{80105023-50B1-11D1-B930-00A0C9A06D2D}
got this funky thing spinning in the component services under my computer/sys. apps/component/comm+apps it is comsvc and states its some sort of a tracker???

Ok its not anything in your component services. But looks like its your DNS Extension. Are you running dns on this server? go to start run..type in dnsmgmt.msc, see if you can open this without a problem? how many computers are in your domain? if you don't have dns installed uninstall it and reinstall it. your problem is that when you go to manage your snap in mmc for dns is failing to load. post back and we can troubleshoot this further.
