I have a Windows 2000 SP4 server that acts as a Tape drive server & File server

A user has to log onto the console every day to manually format the inserted tapes.

I do not want this user to have any access to the files physically located on the server - at present when logged on she can browse through all files

What can I do?

Thanks..

You can't exclude a user from specific operating system files, but you can do something about those File shares with NTFS permissions.

Deny permissions takes precidence over any other granted permissions. If you add this user to the group or user names list in the security tab of a folder, and then deny full control to that user.... no access to that folder or subfolder for this user.

Start, Help. You'll be surprised what's there. A+/MCP/MCSE/MCDBA
