Hi all,

Just started having an issue with the 3 consoles here in the hospital. The operators state that sometime late yesterday afternoon they lost the ability to use the page key while there is a call ringing on an ICI key. They claim that up till then, during a code situation they would ignore any incoming calls to use the page key to make the code page annoucement. Now they have to wait until the console is totally idle and then the page key will work. I have tested it and seems to work as they say on all three consoles. I took one console and diabled the card and reseated but did not help. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Below is one of the consoles and the ATT_DATA.

johnpoole,

thanks for the input, checked and both eest and eesd are no at this time. I went back to the original file I captured in Oct of 2007 when I stated and they were no at that time. Will keep plugging away for now.

Have you verifyed that you can page from a phone to see if it is the paging system that has the problem and not the consoles.

It seems very unlikley that it is a console problem. if it was only one console doing it I would say it was the console.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

If a call is ringing into a loop key, and the need to page presents itself - while the first loop key is flashing with the incoming call, press another loop key that is idle - this will force the ringing call back into the queue and free up the console, then press the PAGE key and speak the message.

Worth a try

acewarlock,
I did take the time to see if the paging system tested ok. It appears to be fine, can page from a set and also the consoles can page using the page key, as long the the console is totally idle. However I tend to agree that this may not actually be a console issue but possibly some type of software corruption.
ghtrout,
Yep, they can page that way and that will do until we can find an actual fix to the problem.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, will let you know if we find out what actually caused the issue.

ghtrout,

Thanks again for the input, however I must appologize as I was repling last night from home and provided in-correct information. If they press the loop key as you suggest all goes as you expect with the call, but they still can not use the page key unless they press release and no other call hits the console before they press the page key.

Just a quick note to thank everyone for the idea's. After trying all I finally just INI'd and that cleared up the console paging issue. According to the printout it had not been INI'd since 12/11/04, so was about time.
