We have a 2616 and it is able to be forwarded. It already has a number set for the button/key. We've used it a lot. Problem is, now we're stuck at home again and can't physically press the button to activate forwarding. I can remote into a PC with console access though.

Is there a way to activate it via console or remotely?

The way I do this isn't through console access, but through a soft phone. If you have a soft phone, you can use the feature code for RCA (ld 57, prt, ffc, all) and follow the following pattern:
RCFA, Station Control Password, Prime DN, Forward Destination, then dial it. This will activate the CFWD key remotely. To deactivate it do the same process but you are looking for RCFD and you don't have a forward destination to plug in because it's a cancel.

I wish we had soft phones. But alas we don't. We're on the Option 11c.
