Console cable for max 2000 4000 6000

Are these straight through or null modem? I know they are male to female but are the pretty much identical to a serial extention cable. In other words will pin 1 go to pin 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3 all the way to 9 or is the pinout different?

RJ11(P1) DB9(J2)
1 n/c
2 DCD (out) 1 daisy chain J2.1 to J2.6
3 DTR (in) 4
4 RD 2
5 SD 3
6 GND 5

Ok I was refering to the DB9 to DB9 console cable that comes with MAX 6000 and seems to work with max 4000 and max 2000 as well. I assume I can use a DB9 serial extension cable then since they are also straight through.

Yes you can use a db9 extension cable. So long as both are straight-through.
