I am trying to resolve an issue with a server running RedHat 8.0. It is SMP so I am not using APMD. I am not running X, this is text only. The system locks up and I would like to see if there are any messages on the console. The problem is the console monitor blanks out after an hour or so. SO my question is , what program is blanking the monitor? I would like to stop it so that the display is on all the time so I can see if there are any messages. I am not seeing any messages in any of the logs So I doubt there is anything on the console at the time of the failure, but still I want to be sure, especially since i dont see any core files out there either.
