Right now, I have about 12 of the ACE CSU devices and 7 or so of the 120A CSU units on the back of my G3r switch. Some of them have been in service for at least 7 years and some a bit less than 5 years (and I don't think any of them were new when they were purchased). I'd like to consoladate these all into a rack mount unit of some kind, but I don't know what's available. Are there multi-card CSU units that have the capability to interface between multiple ISDN PRI T1's and the Definity G3r switch? What do those of you that have a lot of T1's coming in use?

Thanks

Mike

Though no very robust on the diagnostics, the 120A ICSU has a few benefits: Does not require power and does not require additional rack or shelf space. They also continue to be manufactured by Avaya with no End-of-Sale announced.

There is a rack mount adtran ace series. It is actually VERY nice, has redudent power, holds about 20 CSU's in about 8U. The rack has an ethernet port which gives a ton on diagnostic logs, status, etc, etc.

Kevin, you are right, but the 120A's are also expensive for each one. I don't know if buying a single unit with expandable cards (like the one that CL mentions in the message below yours) would be cheaper in the long run or more expensive though.

CL, I looked on the Adtran site and didn't see a unit like this. I'll take a look again and see if I can find the model number and then do some price comparisons.

Thanks

Mike

yes!!! it is the smart 16e shelf. the e in 16e stands for ethernet admin. the 16 with no e has no ethernet admin.
