Hello all,

We keep getting a number of users who get an error that a "Consistency Check" is required when they try to access their Mail file (forgive me if I spelt that wrong).
I've had a look around but can't find any apparent way to do one of these checks.
Firstly, what is this check for?
Secondly, how do I perform one/get round the error as the users can't get into their mail files?

I'm afraid I'm going to need laymens terms on this one, I've been thrown in the deep end and am currently trying to get to grips with Notes.

Cheers,
Dan Moss

This normally happens when a user has their mail database open when Notes is shutdown or terminates abnormally. Using updall will tidy things up for you. Assuming that the mail database is in a directory called mail the command is
load updall mail\user.nsf.
Depending on the size of the database the updall could last seconds or minutes.

I have the same problem - is there a way to automate this procedure for all mail databases, so that the users do not encounter this problem in the morning?

create a program document in the NAB on the server:

program name: fixup
command line: -F -L
Serverto run on: <yourserver>

Don't forget to enable & set a schedule on the Schedule Tab-page Woonjas
IRC: #notes on EFNet
