Connectors with 'tail'

I have some connector lines with an arrow on one end. The connector line end that does not have the arrow developed a 'tail' when I moved the line. How do I get rid of this 'tail' to make the line straight again? I now have several lines with tails of diffreent lengths and have no idea how to make them straight again. Also is there any way to move these connectors by very small amounts rather than having them 'snap' to fixed locations which is very annoying. I used to know Visio really well but every time I don't use it for a few months, I forget everything as the commands are so unintuitive.

Lines can have line ends, both at the tip and the tail. Check out the Line Format dialog.

For some reason, I do not think that that is your problem. Are the tails of the lines actually connected to another shape?

No, the end that does not have the arrow is crooked (shaped like an L). It's almost like it was trying to connect to something that was off to the side to it bent the line. No they are not connected to anything. It's probably easier for me to just delete the whole thing and start again. I was hoing there would be a quick fix.

Visio likes to have ends connected, so that is why you have the odd tail, you may be able to just move the end around to eliminate the bend, but the next time you move the shape the line is attached to, the tail may reappear.

So, what are you trying to do with a line that is only connected at one end? you could replace it with a simple line and add the arrow hear to it.

I was trying to connect shapes. But I had to move many shapes around to reposition them when I added new shapes. I also copied and pasted several connectors to save time in creating the arrows. I had to move the shapes and the connectors separately because when I move the shapes the connectors do not move with them. When I moved the connectors they got bent. Now the bent connectors have a 'point' within them not just at the ends but in the middle also. I don't know how to eliminate those points.
