Hi ,
Our clients connect to Tru64 box using by telnet and calls an application from their profile and every session creates 3-4 processes after conected to system. And system performance is goes down with this situation.
My question is ,can i use a different way to log them except telnet,or using telnet but with diferent way?

Thanks for any help.

hi Required

johnq 6155 12990 0.0 08:58:32 ttyK5 0:00.06 -sh (sh)
johnq 29709 6155 0.0 08:58:57 ttyK5 0:21.18 application process

When a user connected there is sh process and an application process and one or two lpr(print process)

Hi unixadmin,

The "sh" process is probably the shell running the script (.profile or any other script) that launches "application".
After starting "application", it stays sleeping until "application" terminates. If it doesn't have to do anything when "application" terminates, you can use "exec application" rather than "application" in the script. That will cause the "application" process to replace "sh" and you will reduce the processes quantity by one for each connection.
