Hi

I seem to have a strange problem when my cleint computers try to access the server where after being connected for a minute or two it discounts but the same problem doesn't occur when the server connects to the cleint computers.

I tried using the ping -t IP address command and found that when pinging the server it might connect 10 times but then it will not for 3 attempts then connect again.

Any ideas what mights cause this strange problem?

more than likely it is a problem with bad wiring or a problem with your switch.

You might also want to verify that the power settings for your NICs are set to NOT allow the system to power down the NIC.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Thought that two at first but same problem on all client computers (4 of them) and the problem is only one way.

When cleints try to access server but doesn't happen when server tries to access cleint computers.

Where can I check the NIC power settings?

View connection proeprties. Click the configuration button next to the NIC. Click the Power management tab. Uncheck the box to allow the system to power off the NIC.

I hope you find this post helpful.

I have had a similar problem with clients either being disconnected or not being able to reconnect properly. It was a DHCP issue. I just recreated a new scope then restarted. Hope this was helpful.
