I am trying to create a connection to an Excel spreadsheet in the database expert in Crystal Reports 11. When I create the connection, Crystal does not recognize the worksheet in the spreadsheet, but only says "Add a Command" below the connection. What am I doing wrong?

From Database Expert, open the Create New Connection folder. Then open the Access/Excel(DAO) folder. The pop-up screen will then allow you to located the worksheet. Specify Excel as the database type.

It allows me to choose the file and it adds the file to the list of connections. However, it does not allow me to add it to the selected tables section.

Hmmmm.... it allowed me to add Sheet$1 and in the linking, it showed all the column names

That is what it has normally done, and I just began having this problem yesterady.

The problem has been resolved. In the database options menu, "Tables" should have been selected in the Data Explorer section.

Thank you for your assistance.
